Verde River Exchange Case Study

The Friends of Verde River Greenway (FVRG), an Arizona river conservation non-profit, has launched a Water Offset Program. Working in conjunction with prominent businesses in Arizona’s Verde Valley, each of these businesses will be taking steps to “offset” some groundwater use associated with their business, thus “reducing their water footprint” and demonstrating to others a new mechanism to do so. 


Create a brand for the Program and visual elements that celebrate the spirit of projects of this type.  The WPA and emblems for Outdoor Brands were our jumping off point.


Mountains convey the idea of "valley" and the green and blue are associated with ecology.


Goal: Make it feel "approachable" 


Choose elements with a "tourism" or "outdoor festival"or "wine label" feel rather than something that looks like a government program or "official seal."
